MOON was a fantastic movie and reminds me of how I disassociate.
I'm not the same me I was a year ago or even yesterday. Sleep is death. Literally. I know that tomorrow me will not be me. It'll be a version of me. More adapted. Stronger, broken, healthy, growing. That's not me.
In MOON. the loss of identity it is portrayed as a horror. But truly there is no greater freedom. Every version of my life is being played out, which means I get to choose which one I cling to. Sometimes I can specifically make a decision that movies me closer to that version of myself I want to be, and sometimes I just have to pray. It works. It's terribly exciting. And excitingly terrible.
Losing your sense of identity is the first step to finding it.
