"Tupelo Honey" is a popular song written by #NorthernIrish singer-songwriter #VanMorrison and the title song from his 1971 album, #TupeloHoney. The title derives from an expensive, mild-tasting tupelo honey produced in the #southeastern United States. Released as a single in 1972, it reached number 47 on the U.S. pop chart. The melody, which has a catchy, soulful feel to it, was borrowed from Morrison's song "#CrazyLove", released the previous year.

@themostroom I can confirm that #Eurostar (which now includes the Thalys brand) also delivered as promised (albeit at considerably greater cost to the family budget than #DeutscheBahn). Holding my breath on the last leg of a 13-hour journey and hoping #Southeastern doesn't let me down now so I can (once again) trumpet the ease of #rail #travel across #Europe.

Southeastern have announced their proposed ticket office closures. These include the Hayes line which takes in Catford Bridge, Lower Sydenham, New Beckenham, Clock House. The Bromley to Victoria line which includes Kent House, Penge East & Sydenham Hill.

Man racially abused and punched in Sydenham train attack
The victim was on a train approaching West Dulwich station when he was targeted with racial abuse by a man he didn’t know.
The man then repeatedly punched the victim before getting off the train at Sydenham Hill station.

Joint statement from Network Rail and #Southeastern about #London Bridge station
"Southeastern’s and Network Rail’s top priority is always safety. Disruption to train services can result in crowding particularly at large stations like London Bridge. Christmas Eve 24th December:
Southern: No service due to industrial action.
London Overground: Trains operate until around 6pm due to industrial action. A 15 minute service operates between Dalston Junction and Sydenham with services to Highbury & Islington, West Croydon and Crystal Palace every 30 mins. Last train from Whitechapel at 1745 and Canada Water at 1753.

As of today, there is no direct train from Lower Sydenham to either New Cross / Waldron Health Centre or Cannon Street.
Anyone who works in the City now faces a 50% longer journey (from the 24 minute trip from Lower Sydenham to Cannon Street to now a c.36 minute trip according to The Trainline) - so earlier starts on these cold mornings!

Lots of focus from @lewishamlabour cllrs on Southeastern rail cuts. Council has committee to formally engage with rail & bus providers. But over last four years, more meetings have been cancelled or postponed than happened.
Perhaps cllrs aren't quite so committed as they claim?
