Great TED talk by Ali Hajimiri on solar power satellites.
But if this tech can be deployed to power the world, it can even more easily and cheaply be adapted to build a solar sunshade. The sunshade doesn't need complex electronics, it's just thin-film solar sails. To repeat: IF we can power the world using solar power sats, we can MORE CHEAPLY and EASILY stop global warming in its tracks by deploying a sunshade.
