First week back at dog school after the summer break. Me and Amber had lots of fun! She loves going to school even as an old lady - just have to pick and choose what she can do, but she manages most things. She particularly enjoyed scenting - that’s always been one of her favourite activities. 🥰🐶🐾
A fun day out walking the Lepe Loop. It’s 5 miles but Amber was striding out just as much at the end of the walk as she was at the start of it. She never ceases to amaze and delight me.
We had some lovely pasties back at the visitor centre. Mrs Me had a Cornish pasty and I had a rather nice spicey vegan pasty.
Pics from Friday. A lovely stroll down the beach followed by a snooze on the knitting bag and then the torture of a bath and trim!
Amber’s a good girl, she takes it all in her stride 🥰🐶🐾
An English pastoral scene. The long meadow grass has been cut and bundled into these bales to make haylage. This particular field supports a good population of hares, which makes it great fun for my spaniel to follow scent trails and occasionally chase one (she never catches). Just a pity about so much plastic. #england #rurallife #meadow #wildlife #spaniel #hare #harvest
Here’s Amber taking a stroll out this morning (pics 1 and 2).
Pic 3 is where Amber likes to spend her time when I’m working - under my desk. It’s so nice to have her company while I earn money to pay for dog food and vet bills.
Pics 4 is where Amber decided to sit this evening. I had to push myself in next to her and gently make myself a space on the sofa 😂🐶🥰🐾
Our first walk on the beach for several months. So nice to get back down there again.
With Amber’s health issues since the beginning of the year we haven’t been able to get right down on the sand but that changed today. We all had a great time strolling along the beach.
A walk along the coast this morning. We stopped for coffee (and ice cream for Amber).
Amber also pictured sleeping in the kitchen. She likes to curl up and snooze next to the table when we eat 🥰
Our Saturday walk started dry (pic 1) but we soon got soaked to the skin! All adds to the adventure! ☔️🌧️
Later Amber did a “freeze” for so long (pic 3) I was able to leave her, walk into the next room to fetch my phone l, and come back to take a picture. 🥰
A big shout out to Pat my dear friend and colleague @patsypcp who has just joined us on here.. a woman of many talents and interests including #inventions #crafting #felting #trekkie #quizzes #diy very handy with #PowerTools She is about to launch a #podcast on #InvisibleDisability and will be able to make some great contributions to the fabulous #ChickensOfMastodon #DogsOfMastodon as she has #RescueHens and a beautiful blind #Spaniel too 🐔🐾 😃
I wanted a nice pic of a bluebell wood, because it's bluebell season and peeps that don't live in the UK might not even know what a fabulous spring spectacle that is. But the flowers got photobombed by a vainglorious spaniel and that's what you're getting and I'm not even sorry. #spring #Springer #spaniel #wildflowers #bluebells #dogsofmastodon
In the past few months my 80-year-old mother lost her dog and then her husband of 60 years. It’s understandably been a difficult time. She tried to adopt one dog, Eddie, a retired terrier show dog that ended up being a nightmare and too much for her. It sadly didn’t work out.
Now she’s found a new companion. A Cavalier King Charles Spaniel she’s named Molly. Molly was a puppy mill mom. Four years old. Sweet as pie according to my mother. Fingers crossed.
Happy holidays to all who celebrate from this little dork who is in full denial of his senior status and insists on climbing on whatever random place he finds accessible. Hope you have a great weekend.
Want to know a little more about me, the artist? I love dogs! Yep I don't think there's ever been a time in my life there a dog wasn't in my immediate circle of love. Here's an artistic rendition of #mochathedog who is the current Queen of our household! #dogsrule

So Mastodon has been very kind and welcoming, and it’s good to see familiar faces from other platforms. Although I’m gradually finding them and them finding me, I’m still after recommendations, so #Mastodon do your stuff and tag them or boost this please?! Thanks!

This week rain coats, thermals, and woolly hats have become de rigueur at the nursery, long gone are the days of wearing shorts.
We’ve been busy moving #plants into our polythene tunnels - just the ones which won’t survive the winter wet. The majority of our plants stay outside all year round.
