This is the oldest of the lighthouses in the Bahamas, built in 1817. It is built of brick and stands 68 ft tall. This view is from the cruise ship once in the Nassau Port, Prince George Wharf, looking back toward the open sea.

The Plain Chachalaca is a nonmigratory bird that is found in the southern tip of Texas and through much of Central America. I heard the very loud call of several before this one made an appearance on the open branch in the morning light. Captured this image along a trail in the Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park in Mission, TX in March.

I had already seen a turkey in full display and then about a mile into the park, I saw more turkeys in the woods. I stood around for awhile and this gobbler finally came out of the trees into full sunlight. Their details up close amaze me.
