Yass Junction #station is 318km from Sydney on the main southern line. It is the passenger station for the town of Yass, and it was also the junction for a branch line into Yass Town itself. You can see the small platform for the Yass Town branch line in the background of this photo.
In the end, arrived in Davos in 70 cm snow since yesterday with 70 min delay. Fair deal.

A 27-year-old man died when he was run over by #LightRailTransit (#LRT) #train after he fell onto the #track at the Dato’ Keramat LRT #station.
The #KualaLumpur Fire and #Rescue Department received a distress call at 9.05pm about the incident.
The victim was run over by the train and pronounced dead at scene by medical officers.
Following the incident, service on the #KelanaJayaLine was disrupted.

#RapidKL denied viral post that there was explosion or fire involving a Mass #Rail #Transit (#MRT) #train along #Kajang line on Wednesday afternoon.
The #incident only involved sound of a #spark from train number 28, not explosion or fire.
The #alarm of the MRT #track #power supply system was triggered at nearby station.
For #safety reason, the train was removed from service at #TamanMutiara #station and passengers were asked to board the next train.

Railway Assets Corporation (#RAC) and Srijang Kemajuan Sdn Bhd (#SKSB) has signed #Operation & #Maintenance #Agreement.
RAC agreed to give Kajang 2 #Railway #Station Naming Rights to SKSB where the station name will be changed to MKH Kajang 2 Railway Station.
SKSB is also given the right to commercialize the entirety of the station building during the duration of the #agreement is taking effect.

Someone took a quick ride by #LRT to go to work – but sometimes it took more than an hour just to get to the #station itself by #bus from home.
Someone else relies on parents to take them to the nearest LRT station as there aren’t any feeder #bus stop within a walkable distance.
Another person said there is a #busstop but it is in poor condition.
The complaints of the three LRT commuters highlight the need for feeder buses.

A fellow transit user known as Ernest Wong is making some kind of update to the improved RapidKL transit map.
Two new labels are added to highlight and given emphasis about two changes to the map:
1. LRT3 - isn’t opened yet; will only open in 2025
2. KTM Skypark - line is suspended since Feb 2023; alternative bus routes to airport shown
The labels are now pasted on top of official maps in some stations in Kuala Lumpur.

Prime Minister’s announcement of a RM4.7 billion allocation in Budget 2024 to revive the plan to build five stations on the #LRT3 line in #Selangor that was cancelled in 2018 has raised eyebrows.
The 37km LRT3 line will connect #BandarUtama to #JohanSetia in #Klang, and is currently under construction.
With budget of RM4.7 billion, the average cost to build each #station is roughly RM940 million.

I appreciated it so much last time in #Veynes, on the #Briancon #Marseille line when both the #station and #train (super young) staff hung around while trying to reach a solution with a train which had a failing wheel. They didn't hide from us as many do, and were plain that for them too, being stranded was a problem!

I've looked at every #Amtrak station in #Ohio. You simply cannot get on a #train between 8am and 11pm at any #station in the entire state (not that there's a lot of them anyways).
Who planned this?!?! It's no surprise that ridership is an issue when the trains only stop here when most people are asleep. We need some trains that most people can actually utilize.

I wasn't there to catch the train, was just wandering around Ōtaki whilst a former friend was meeting up with ... well, we don't need to go into who she was meeting and why at this juncture.

For those wondering today why locating a #CO2 observational #station on a flank of an active #MaunaLoa volcano:
1. It is remote from major pollution sources and located at a hight of 3.4 km above sea level - a perfect spot for sampling background air in the well mixed free #troposphere.
2. It is easily accessible and has a good local infrastructure.
3. It is also the longest #record of #volcanic CO2 observations.
A win-win situation for #science 😀
