Today is the first time since before I got sick that I felt strong. I managed a yoga session and a walk home on slippery, snowy sidewalks without feeling tired. I’m glad I took almost two months off from doing more than the bare minimum. I think it let me heal up better from COVID than if I’d been pushing myself. I’m grateful I was able to do this while also furious that most people I know are in a state of wage slavery and cannot. Used 2 9kg kettle bells and was dead by the end of the 6:55 it took me to finish.

Bruce Lee's body movements are so superb; his physique so inspirational!

I recommend horse stance -- it's basically a static #squat #core #exercise which is good for lower body #strength, physical #endurance, improved #balance and stability, #flexibility #focus and mental fortitude while reducing stress and increasing #health

When I was younger, I used to do Tiger Claw arm and hand motion so combining these with horse stance is a great way to do #FunctionalFitness

- 10 Deadbugs,
- 10 Overhead Deadbugs,
- 10 Prone Ys
- 1min pecs MFR each side

Push it real hard:
a) max set (elevated or banded) push ups (managed 22 elevated on 45cm table, that's 6 more than last week)
b) rest 5 mins
c) 5 EMOM 50% of a) (=11 elevated push ups every min)

Play dead, bug! 3 rounds:
- 20" hollow hold (misread, should have been 30")
- 18 deadbug with dumbbell press (or KB press in my case, 5kg each)

Really happy to see how my (elevated) push ups have improved and the amount I can do has increased.

PVC shoulder warm up:
- pass throughs
- around the worlds
- circles
- external rotation
- high pulls

Warm up: 3 rounds
- 5 med ball power cleans
- 5 med ball squat cleans
- 10 box step overs
- 10 supine straight leg side lowering
- 150m run / 1 min air bike

PVC squat clean technique work

Strength: 10 mins to build up to a heavy 5 rep touch and go squat clean (5x 15-20-22-23-24-25-26 kg)

Conditioning: 5 rounds for time
- 5 hang squat cleans (20kg)
- 10 box jump step down (step up/down for me)
- 15 sit ups

Most of the time, I’m still mentally exhausted, though I’m getting better about “not caring” about the things that are bringing me down and prioritizing myself.

Humorism, a theory on how the body works, had been prevalent since #AncientGreece, & determined what & how much was fed to the #sick.

Doctors wanted the #food to be light, but people felt rich food would give #strength to the #weak.

Conflicts arose in hospitals. #German #physician Hufeland stated that noncompliant patient diets “killed far more people than the illness itself”.

For all you beautiful folks that are #following for #running chat … the rehab continues.

If there’s one thing this #injury has reminded me, it’s how important basic #strength work is to a #training program. I hear it over and over again, but it seems like actually DOING it was what it took for it to hit home.

Had my PT check-in today and he’s super pleased with my progress. The work continues.

Chasing that goal of a return to #trailrunning before March. And a return to #roadrunning ASAP.

I coach group fitness as a side hobby/hustle and my 6pm is 5 people away from being my first SOLD OUT class ever and I am SO proud of myself.

I recall my warmup & conditioning routines from my martial arts experience. But I tend to overdo things and look for routines that someone smarter than me has made.

I can’t tolerate videos with talking or excessively vocal music or music that I dislike.

She’s got #mobility and #strength workouts. The music is on point, electronic with tolerable vocals.
