I mowed the lawn today just to keep it under control. The #CompostBins have a whole community of #fauna and #fungi in them but as soon as you lift the lid and expose them to bright #sunshine, they scurry away looking to retain moisture and out of the sight of likely predators like birds. It’s difficult to get a good #photograph of any #arthropods.

However, I did manage to capture an image of this #woodlouse.

A daisy, to brighten your day.

A large yellow and white composite flower fills most of the image. Its yellow center, packed tightly with florets, looks like a round cake, with a dimple at its center (perhaps showing where a candle was removed). The arrangement of florets forms a pattern of interlocking Fibonacci spirals on the cake's top surface. Around the center, bright white petals radiate outward until they droop down under their own weight. They are speckled with droplets from recent rain. In the background, out of focus, we see grass and, in the distance, another flower like the first. Everything is fresh.
