As promised, Lenovo delivered Android 13 within 2023 as I've just received it on my Tab M10 Plus 3rd Gen 10.6” tablet.
Here's what the home screen looks like now, I'm still getting used to the bottom app bar but I don't mind it. The update came with half a dozen bloatware apps, half of which can be uninstalled.

If their system declines your credit card, it still places a pre-authorisation for the full amount into your bank account – thereby reducing the balance of your account for the full amount. The authorisation is for a whole month and so you cannot touch that money for a month.
I called and spoke with them and they told me there’s nothing they can do on their end and my bank won’t investigate unless they take the money.

Es gibt da dieses #reMarkable2-#Tablet. So grundsätzlich finde ich die Idee recht toll, mit 'digitalem Papier' zu arbeiten - für Notizen, Skizzen und Gedankenaufzeichnung. Weiß von euch jemand, ob es ein vergleichbares Gerät mit #FOSS-Betriebssystem auf #Linux- oder #Android-Basis gibt?
Alternativ wäre auch ein größeres Tablet mit 'normalem' Bildschirm interessant, bei dem die Stifteingabe sehr gut funktioniert.

I'm tempted to pre-order the Tab S9 #Android #tablet that Samsung announced this week. My 4-year old Surface Go is getting long in the tooth and I've been researching replacements for a long-term mobile device for a couple of months now.
What I'd really like to buy is a Surface Go form-factor device from Framework or Fairphone, but I don't think that's going to happen in the foreseeable future. In the meantime #Samsung's commitment to 4 large Android upgrades plus Dex sounds like my best bet.

I've been reflecting on the purpose and place of #tech in my life, and I'm coming to the conclusion that my technology needs to stay at home, at a designated place, for designated uses. That means no #smartphone , no #laptop , no #tablet , or even an old school feature phone.
#Desktop computer and landline phone. Maybe an MP3 player (still on the fence on this one.) Designated tech for specific uses that doesn't move. And I'm not even thinking a cordless landline. Corded.
The Pixel Tablet running GrapheneOS works with the Charging Speaker Dock as both a charger and a speaker. Smart display features in the stock OS that are activated by docking require privileged Play services integration and likely won't be available via sandboxed Google Play.
Initial GrapheneOS support for the Pixel Tablet is now available. It can be installed via our web installer (https://grapheneos.org/install/web) or the official CLI install procedure. The basics are confirmed to work properly already and we're currently working on our first update for it.

WTF?! My 71 year old mother just called me, because her #Samsung #Tablet has no internet connection. I told her to reboot it, but she said it won't let her. Turns out Samsung decided to make the power button dedicated to the #Bixby assistant. They want her to tell Bixby "Please turn off the tablet". But remember how I said the tablet has got no internet? :)
I'm so pissed right now. My mum was so proud that she learnt how to restart her devices on her own, and now this shit.

Does any of you #linux #kernel or @postmarketOS people have any idea what's going on with my #samsung #tablet when I enable #hardware #acceleration in @firefox? It seems like it renders the first few bits of text towards the top and then just stops. It works fine without hardware acceleration, but it's so much smoother with it.

I'm getting one soon and I really don't know what to expect. Anything would help like... even how to turn on Talk Back! I' messentially starting from scratch just to see how cool the Android side of things can be and so I'd definitely want to learn as much as I can. Any resources or apps or anything cool would help.
