I used to think that having to use a command line was a sign of failure. Some dev was just too lazy to write a GUI for a process and I had to suffer because of it.
Since I started coding in Python (and a bit earlier when I started doing Node.js) I have been using the command line more and more. And now I am even doing my git commits and pushes using it.

I just made the most amazing @textualize discovery. So I'm looking at the CSS live edit facility that we have, to make a change, and I was messing about. At one point I had a background set to "yellow 100%". Brain went "so what's yellow 101%?"
Is it an error?
Does it get clamped?
No.
None of those things.
It's much more epic.

A new #terminal to love! I've been using iterm2 on my macbooks forever.
New job handed me a #Linux box. So I found WezTerm https://wezfurlong.org/wezterm/index.html (by @wez).
Today I switched to using it also on my Mac. It's so much faster than iterm, just as pretty, and uses a fun #lua config :D The best feature is that my setup now is identical on both machines.
Two minor inconveniences: I can't do opt+n for tilde on mac de keyboard without deadkey hiccups, and it doesn't have the shiny (but unnecessary) status bar of iterm2.

There is a new “conventionally standard” #terminal that calls itself “xterm-256color”. There is no formal definition of this terminal, but it is, more or less, a relatively consistent subset of the *actual* xterm-256color. However, there are a *lot* of features supported by the latter that are not in the former but since they both identify as the same thing it’s impossible to reliably determine if you can use real xterm features. Something similar happened to the VTxxx back in the day.

Securely editing configuration files while preserving the invoking user environment:

That's all. The changes will not be immediately effective; logout, and login again to activate.
When using sudoedit instead of sudo, all your customizations set in your editor (in this case vim) are honored and the file is edited as the user itself, not as root.

FWIW, I’m neither involved with #GraphicConverter nor #Homebrew development, just a user of both.
I looked up the latest version number on LemkeSoft’s website here: https://www.lemkesoft.de/en/products/graphicconverter/overview-of-new-features-and-versions
Then I ran this #Terminal #brew command:
brew bump-cask-pr –version 12.0.2,6105 graphicconverter
That downloaded GraphicConverter, updated the cask file with its version and security checksum, and opened a #GitHub pull request with the update.

Hello!
On #macOS (13.2.1), I've updated my .profile under my user to do #PHP development. Every time I restart (and sometimes without restarting, it feels like), the .profile resets itself.
I update, save, then use #Terminal to `source`.
Am I missing something?
