My favourite squiggly beech tree has just burst into leaf. I love new beech leaves, their colour, and how soft they feel. I have yet to stitch this particular tree, but I did capture that wonderful acid green in Minninglow Beeches, Spring.

Alongside paintings of local landscapes, I have also been working on mixed-media pieces.

Knitting was passed down to me by my grandmother. The knitting in this pieces uses local wool from rare breed Cotswold sheep.

Our local landscape has been shaped over millennia by humans. Natural and human elements run side-by-side, and I aim to illustrate this by weaving them together in these pieces.

Started a new project today. I’ve been thinking about it for a little while. Execution always departs somewhat from one’s imagination, for me anyway. Intending to do lots of experimentation with different types of paint, water soluble pastel and coloured pencil, graphite and charcoal. Most of these can be bound to cotton using textile medium. I've improved a bit since I stitched this 5 years ago but I still love it.

A very personal piece, worth clicking the link to my website page as you'll find lot more about it than I can fit in here. Based on a satellite image if a #hurricane each section is an emotion/state of mind, stitched as the mood took me. Nearly 3 years work and completed during lockdown.
