On iOS, I use Toot! as my preferred app for Mastodon.
What I miss, however, is the function of being able to swipe to the right from a lower level to get to the level above.
It's too much of a hassle to always click on "<Home" at the top left, as the spot is hard to reach with my thumb.
Is this possible, but have I just not found the function - or is this still being implemented?

Here at #Calckey, I haven't discovered these two options yet. Does it exist here? If so, where? If no, is there a plan to adopt it?

Btw: Dass ich solange Texte wie meinen letzten schreiben kann, ist bereits eines der #Calckey #Features. Während die meisten #Mastodon Instanzen ein Limit von 500 Zeichen pro Post (bzw. #Toot / #Tröt, wie es dort heißt) setzen, erlaubt mir "meine" #Calckey #Instanz eine Textlänge von bis zu 4.000 Zeichen pro Posting (Standard bei #Misskey wie auch bei #Calckey sind soweit ich weiß 3.000 Zeichen, wobei dieses Limit aber durch #Instanz Admins verändert werden kann).

Allerdings ist zugegebenermaßen auch die Vorgabe von max. 500 Zeichen bei #Mastodon nicht in Stein gemeißelt, sondern kann ebenfalls durch die jeweiligen Instanz-Admins verändert werden. Deshalb gibt es durchaus auch ein paar #Mastodon-Instanzen, die mehr als die standardmäßigen 500 Zeichen pro #Tröt zulassen - vereinzelt sogar 5.000 Zeichen. Ein weiteres Feature von #Calckey, das es z.B. bei #Mastodon nicht gibt und nach dem gerade dort immer wieder verlangt wird, sind sogenannte #DrüKos / #DrueKos (#Drüberkommentare). Besonders diejenigen, die von der #Vogelseite aka #Twitter kommen und bei #Mastodon landen, vermissen diese Funktion dort mehr oder weniger schmerzlich (andere wiederum überhaupt nicht - aus Gründen). Bei #Calckey gibt es die Funktion, heißt hier "Zitat", und ich nutze sie gerade für dieses Posting. Bei Dir als #Mastodon User wird mein #Drüko / #DrueKo vermutlich mit dem Zusatz "RE:" angezeigt plus den Link zum ursprünglichen Posting, das ich kommentiere.

Vielleicht genügen diese zwei konkreten Beispiele an dieser Stelle zur Veranschaulichung?!

Weird. I can't unfollow certain people! They're in my #Mastodon page on the web. When I click their icon it says #Follow, not #unFollow. I don't remember following, but I might've. There's no "X #boosted" on the #toot. #Server version v4.1.2. Anyone else have this issue?

Edit: Found the issue... accidentally clicked "follow" button on hashtag when I was trying to click "back" in web interface! That really should change!

Can anyone tell me why reviewers keep recommending #Ivory as ‘the go to app’ for #Mastodon on Apple devices when it’s lacking so many features?

Next they’ll recommend #IceCubes which I admit is a nice app but it’s still slow on my iPhone 14 Pro and iPad Pro.

I haven’t seen any reviewer recommend #Toot! which for me, ‘just works’. I keep coming back to it.

I’m going to try #Mona now — I just saw a YouTube reviewer recommending it (his other recommendation was Ivory of course…)

@podcast very awesome app, for real! glad that there are more awesome apps in that ecosystem as well, walled in garden as it is. While the need for charging for features is understandable, I personally think the free version contains far too few features to accurately advertise mona's potential, maybe a time based trial of the full stuff, followed by the restricted demo would be a far better deal? just brainstorming here at this point, but that'd be nice nevertheless. Well, here's hope such an application will eventually be available for #linux as well, since we're fairly disadvantaged over here, inaccessible or little accessible apps for the most part and so on. The closest we got is #toot, a terminal mastodon client, but it needs configuration to reduce the ascii art and text based beautifyers, like trying to split the terminal in columns and all that, but afterwards it's usable enough. Another promising one is #tokodon, @kde's attempt at this, but it severely lacks accessibility.

Just one home feed or searching and keeping separate tabs open is getting out of hand.

I thought Lists were the solution, it improves the experience but its still not a complete soution.

Don't let anybody make you feel embarrassed about resharing too much. When you #boost a #toot it not only helps the person you share it helps you.

The fediverse is constantly collapsing and being reborn at any given moment. An infinite Phoenix cycle.

By boosting other people's ideas we would like to spread, or their art, or whatever it makes their instance and yours sync up. It makes every instance that is involved in the web of dispersion share that moment in an organic and spontaneous way.

You may miss algorithms but the #fediverse is a place where an absence of algorithms makes every serendipitous connection genuine. Not just a third party tracker arranging fake magic to turn you onto their snake oil.

That way it becomes a separate category that you can look at in both web UI interface and in some mobile apps too.

I am using Toot & it simply allows me to search for and then pin the term.

So far, I’ve tried the standard Masto app, #Toot! #Metatext and now #IceCubes. Liking Ice Cubes the best. Toot! is cute (and I hate to leave the cute behind) but it’s been getting glitchy and no updates on the horizon.

@tootapp why does the "light reply map" keep turning itself on after I turn it off?

Love the reply map feature, but the colored version is so much better, though the app seems to keep fighting my preference.

There is another option:
Do what you do anyplace else:
Scrolling, "scanning", and
selective reading.

Whereas I can see in the fraction of a second if a #toot interests me, it might take me considerably longer to decipher such a CW ("USpol" is easy enough, but I still wonder about quite a few, having read 1000's of #toots).

I can see the point for content that might really upset a significant number of users.

However, I don’t need a "reading nanny", so to speak.
