I think my webhost (quite reasonably) blocks IP addresses from known spammers etc.
Changed the ORPort of the relay to 443. The DIRPort was already on 80 so my #raspberrypi with #tor-relay looks on the surface like a webserver. Port 80 even serves a http page :)

This #vulnerability was addressed on the *opening day* of the 2022 conference where it was presented. The #NoScript extension bundled with @torproject’s #TorBrowser protects against it, and #Tor #Browser users would have received it as an automatic update.
I don’t understand why #Wired is tweeting this old article. Unless a person pays attention to the publication date they might think this is a current threat.

Conflux
This is essentially traffic splitting. If enabled, Tor will create multiple circuits (legs) to the same exit for the same stream for performance and stability reasons. Onion services are not supported at the moment.

Onion Service Proof-of-Work (PoW)
This is a DoS mitigation feature which requires a client to solve a “puzzle” and prove the service it has the solution. The rendezvous requests are prioritized, at the service, based on the amount of effort a client chooses to put in the puzzle. The priority queue also adapts to the attack load and disable puzzle entirely if the service is not overloaded.
To enable this, set HiddenServicePoWDefensesEnabled 1 in your torrc. Please read the man page for more information.

If you're looking for a way to safely use any application with the #tor network, without the overhead of #whonix, then I suggest you try TorVirt.

I expetience some strange behaviour with @torproject #TorBrowser on a (throttled) mobile connection:
Neither bridges (obfs4, meek-azure nor snowflake) nor without with get some.stable.connection and just contantly have circuits dying before it can even load the homepage to show it's connected.
Is it just me or do #MVNO's using #CGNAT on #RFC1918 adress spaces also try to prevent and block #Tor useage?

What I'd love to see is an "anti-#Chrome" with @torproject / #Tor, #I2P, #IPFS & #OpenVPN & #WireGuard other nice integrations from the get-go.

There the integration with gandi.net for custom #eMail is way nicer and less "on the nose" but with #Enigmail integrates there's no excuse not to use #OpenPGP-based end-to-end - encrypted eMails...

#Tor on both when privacy is a particular consideration. It's still inconvenient --- somewhat slower, but most annoyingly, VERY frequently blocked by sites, though #InternetArchive and #ArchiveToday both help with that considerably.
That Google in particular blocks virtually all Tor traffic is itself especially telling.

@motherofthedark running both is (thankfully) still legal in my country. so long as you don't run an exit node (which require heavier loads and special setup on #tor and don't really exist on #i2p) you should be fine in most countries where this toot reaches.
Running a #tor or an #i2p node is quite easy, and can even be done from your phone without much overhead. Yet it's crucial for the preservation of an open, censorship-free and spying-free internet.
If you have the bandwidth and the data cap to do so, consider donating some of your CPU cycles to such projects.
