The republicans wrangled the votes and merged the #gac ban with a ban on #abortion after 12 weeks.
Cavanaugh has vowed to stall as long as possible.
Governor Bill Lee has signed into law a bill that defines sex as determined by genitalia at birth, and requiring sex to be listed on all legal documents. It is the fourth state to have implemented such a law.

The #aclu of #oklahoma and the OK Attorney General's office have signed a binding agreement that SB 613, with bans #gac for minors in the state, will not be enforced until a preliminary injunction can be heard.
As such, #trans youth in the state will be able to continue receiving care for the next few weeks, despite the ban.
There are a few things that really aggravate me about the #TransGenocide discourse:
1. The insistence on semantic nitpicking and ignoring semiotics. Relatedly this idea that it is "disrespectful" to use the word "#genocide." As if the word itself were reserved.
2. The ignoring of a vast body of scholarship that has and continues to analyze these questions and has for decades
3. The downplaying or minimizing the "next step consequences"—where this road ends, regardless of if we are there yet

Yesterday, protestors flooded the Texas state capitol demanding the legislature not pass Senate Bill 14, which would ban puberty blockers and hrt for teengaers.
Democrats delayed the vote while cops cleared the gallery. Organizer Adri Pérez was arrestred, but all charges dropped. Organizer Sofia Sepulveda was banned from the capitol. An unknown second person was also arrested.

Florida has changed it so that only 8 of 12 jurors can sentence someone to death. And now, SB1342 will make sexual crimes against kids warrant a death sentence.
Not for Republican politicians or priests, but for doctors or parents who "mutilate children's genitalia". No one is doing bottom surgery on minors, but puberty blockers and hormones exist.

You're using your 2023 brain to assess this. That's the wrong point of view. It's not 2023 for trans people, it's 1933, and we all live in Berlin.
When we all looked at the horrors of the Holocaust, and said #NeverAgain, did we mean anything by that? Can we truly afford to be casual in our opposition to what is intended to reach the same conclusions: that the targeted group are subhuman, and don't deserve life?
You wishing it weren't happening isn't going to save anyone. What are you doing to help protect trans people? Have you even called your representatives at the appropriate government to tell them to lay off?
If not, what DID you mean by #NeverAgain? "NeverAgain, as long as it's not inconvenient for me or requires me to do anything?"
Cis people, we need you to stand the fuck up and fight back. I don't need you to tell me here how you do that; I need you to just DO IT. Don't virtue-signal. Just act. Call your reps. Get your ass out to a demonstration. Take a sign saying "I'm a cis ally!" Get on TV with it. Be noticed, standing up. When you hear transphobic talk at work or in the pub, SAY SOMETHING. Learn, so you can educate.
