Speaking of mental health, the article claims that my mental health issues can be attributed to the Supprelin implant, however, my personal experience shows that this is not the case. Since Covid-19, my mental health has been declining, and it was already an issue.
I was in counseling with the Washington University transgender care center in which I was treated amazingly by my counselor. She was a friend to me and offered a great amount of support. This was taken away when my mom revoked consent for the Supprelin.
After she revoked consent, my father and I, along with the university, attempted to set up a meeting with my mom. She did not attend this meeting, claiming that she was not contacted. Later, she admitted that she was.

After she had edited the article and published it (I had not found this out until 20 hours later) I was extremely frustrated. The article makes it out that my mother had no say in the implant of the Supprelin. This is completely false.
My mother claims that she was pressured into saying yes by the doctors. A big issue they point out is that the doctors quoted suicide statistics in transgender adolescents. I do not deny that these statistics were quoted, but I also sustain that the doctors didn’t say that I was at substantial risk of this.
The article mentions that my grades dropped from A’s and B’s to D’s and F’s in a semester. This is a completely exaggerated statement. My grades were on a steady decline since 2020 due to unrelated mental health concerns.

I learned of this article through my mom over the phone when she asked if it was okay that @TheFP published the article. I said that I wanted to read it first. When I read the draft I was disgusted with what the reporter and my mom had made my experience out to be.
Upon interviewing Emily Yoffe myself I was told that I had no say in whether or not the article was published. I asked if my consent was required to publish the article and the reporter told me, “that’s not how these things work.”

I want to remind people that rights need to be preserved in death as well as in life.
When a transgender or nonbinary person needs medical care, end of life care, and death care, it’s often left to their next of kin to make important decisions. What happens if the legal next of kin isn’t supportive or accepting?
It’s crucial to think about uncomfortable scenarios like this and organize legal documentation before it’s needed. A person can record their decisions and legally bypass family members in the next of kin chain. They can assign next of kin rights to someone who will respect their wishes and honor them properly, from using the correct name and pronouns to providing the preferred clothing and accessories.
Don’t wait until it’s too late.

This is me back in 2017 when I was the happiest, truest authentic version of myself.
In late 2018 I shaved my head while studying and practicing Zen Buddhism and got ordained, thinking I would stay on that path for life and become a full time Buddhist monastic.
During the pandemic I began straying away from my practice due to spiritual trauma, etc.
Although I am post op, the past over a year has been filled with lengthy periods of extreme gender dysphoria and overwhelming depression.
I so bad, more than anything , NEED to return to who I was before I got involved in Zen!
I'm sick of repeatedly getting misgendered, and I'm sick of people like us being demonized and terrorized by transmisic bigots.
I shouldn't have to be afraid to go out anywhere I want without the risk of violence, and especially for youth and people of color who are at even more risk.
We shouldn't have to be afraid of losing our gender affirming care.
We deserve to be safe, and treated with respect and dignity.
I'm depressed and I'm sick and tired of struggling in dire poverty, feeling invisible.
I'm not thriving like I should be and deserve to be.
I need support from my friends, comrades and allies.
I've been out in the streets these past few years fighting for everyone, and right now, I need you to fight for transgender and non binary people all over the world.

The fact that you doubt yourself is not proof that you're an imposter.
Some people are born with the unshakable knowledge that they are [ that].
Some people figure out what they are later in life.
Some people CHOOSE what they are and why the hell shouldn't they? Why let bigots force us into a corner of "only born that way is real"?
Some people CHANGE and that is also fine. The person you might be in the future doesn't invalidate who you are now. Even if they are radically different.
You get to decide who you are. End of.

Minnesota governor signs order protecting access to gender-affirming health care
Minnesota's Democratic Gov. Tim Walz signed an executive order Wednesday directing state agencies to take action to protect and support access to gender-affirming health care across the state.
"All state agencies must, to the fullest extent of their lawful authority, pursue opportunities and coordinate with each other to protect people or entities providing, assisting, seeking or obtaining gender affirming health care services in Minnesota," the order says.
Gender-affirming care is medically necessary, evidence-based care that uses a multidisciplinary approach to help a person transition from their assigned gender -- the one the person was designated at birth -- to their affirmed gender -- the gender by which one wants to be known.
Walz's order comes as Republican-led states around the country push restrictions on such care, with at least four states this year having passed measures to outlaw gender-affirming care for minors. As part of the order, the governor is prohibiting the state from cooperating with investigations by states that aim to penalize such care, saying their actions "pose a grave threat to the health" of members of the LGBTQ community.
The order itself does not change any existing Minnesota law but instead requires state agencies to use their existing powers to protect gender-affirming care and study the health benefits of such care. The order also directs agencies to investigate health care organizations that may have denied individuals access to gender-affirming care.

Between this and other bills introduced today, gender affirming care would be banned for all trans youth, and coverage would be eliminated for all state and local employees and their families. All public hospitals are banned from providing gender affirming care, including adults.
An additional bill requires "informed consent" forms by the state filled with pseudoscience and and bans telehealth for gender affirming care for adults. It also bans changes to gender markers on state issues birth certificates for all trans people.
This is a full on war against trans people in the state of Florida. This is a full elimination of recognition and a limitation on access to care for all trans people, including adults.

A transphobic parent could kidnap their trans child in violation of custody agreements and abscond to Florida and be protected by Florida law under this despite likely committing felony kidnapping in their home state.
The bill goes even further to ban all public funding for gender affirming care, including for adults. This would mean state and local employees and their families would be barred from coverage for gender affirming care.
