So, I run an automated site that aggregates and classifies #travel blog posts as Trip Reports, Travel News, Credit Cards, etc. using a small ML model and posts a short summary of the post with a link to the original post. Thanks to the ActivityPub #wordpress plugin i can now follow that site via Mastodon (in addition to RSS and a Facebook page).

Some of the nicest #sunsets were observed through the mountains. There was some risk here:
Your view is extended because you are above the dark valley, but when it finally goes dark, you're in the woods, at the top of a mountain, in the dark, with animals that roam freely around you.. You should plan this carefully

It's pretty steep in places, but the trail crawls around the edge.

Finally, a nice photo to show, almost eerie, grey tree trunks, tall and slender, under tree canopy that lets in enough light for a good photo. Rocks from worn walking and running water, form steps to ascend the steep mountain trail. I remember the smell. It was earth and fresh, with nothing but trees and the smell of nature. We saw mushrooms, and polypores everywhere

A small blue plate, and an arrow across from it, separate the intersecting three trails near the top. We took them all, but one at a time. It's a long hike for my wife, and she needed to rest between hikes.
This part of the trail is sloped right, as that is as close to a level walk as you can get at this height

The parking lot has wooden posts around it and a gravel driveway to the designated camping spots. It has all facilities, washrooms, showers, play areas, and more. A good value stay in any Provincial Park, IE: $39 vice $65 at the time. It cost us $75 two weeks ago per night in a private campground. So, Provincial parks have everything, without price jacking

The start of one trail, each has a map posted and a sign indicating where the trail begins. That part is mowed to help you find it, but once on the trail, some wear and tape on trees tell you which trail you are on, and which way to go, because some trails cross each other up on the Salt Mountain.
This tiny trail was the McQueen Trail

A totem pole. Laying down, half round top showing, carvings into the wood, and historically significant. An Infoboard describes this as Nova Scotia's ONLY Totem Pole.

Common on many shores, coastal erosion is exacerbated by climate change. A large mud rock side has collapsed and slid into the beach. Tides and waves reach shoreline banks and either tear sections off, or wash out the base and the banks collapse

My wife is picking slabs off this unusual soft rock. Feels like limestone, sandstone, or shale in weight and consistency. Mother nature has carved and patterned the rock surface

It's as if a massive rock split, we can walk under and between, on low tide. You can't return this way if the tide is high

Love Beach, Nassau Bahamas. 🌴☀️

This is normally a peaceful and relaxing beach that is surrounded by reef/sandstone.

When I took this photo there was an earthquake that occurred close to Jamaica as well as a full moon that evening. Both events brought waves in like I've never seen before and I've spent over 200 days of my life on this tiny island.

I was on a short break from my job at the nearby airport when I took the photo. On the way home we had to avoid that stretch of road altogether and cut through the inner areas of the island.

That evening was a whole other adventure heading to the night events as waved crashed into the streets and brought rock and debris with them. It was an interesting experience to have!

My wife can't lift a corner of a boat.
I'm not a big person. My boats are tiny so I can manage alone. I've made carts & slips to put them in the ocean myself. My wife & I venture into the #100WildIslands off #Halifax area of #NovaScotia. I publish a little #TravelBlog of each new adventures, to bait all of you who #kayak or #boat.

Looking out the harbour with the ocean very smooth and steady to the horizon.

With the ocean in my back (and front) yard, there's a tiny white boat on the shore, and that direct look between islands out into the ocean, from my yard

I only get sunrise views from home, so sometimes, if we can get back in the dark, I stop at sea and get a photo of the sunset. This photo captures a bit of it, reflecting colours off the sky to the ocean and back. The outline of my wife against it in the front of the boat
