Obvious to followers of my account, my family travels a lot internationally. We lived in Europe before the pandemic and my daughter, now age 9, had seen more of that continent than her own. The plot for the Marjorelle Garden in #Morocco was purchased 100 years ago this year. Opened to the public after WW2, it fell into disrepair. In the 1980s fashion designer Yves Saint-Laurent and his lover Pierre Bergé rediscovered the garden and saved it. It is currently suffering from the most severe infestation of Instagram Girls I've seen. But i managed—barely—to get a few shots.

When my mother-in-law was growing up, it was more like one of the photos in the B series. A series of rural villages called "kampongs," with the city a separate center. Her family left their kampong for an apartment in the city after the 1964 riots.
