It can’t go up front; there’s already: one Cottonwood, two Hazelnuts, two Choke Cherries, two Elderberries, a Slippery Elm, and a Maple. Lining the driveway: one Bigleaf Maple, one Japanese Maple, one Oak, one Ponderosa Pine, a Walnut, and a Photinia. So… somewhere in back, with the Apples, Pears, Walnuts, Hazelnuts, Cherries, Plums, Quince, Medlar, the ancient Willow, an Oak, the Fig, and Witch Hazel.
(Had to edit a few times, as I wander around looking for a spot).

I finally repotted the volunteer saplings in the larger pots. I think they’re elm, but not sure. I had them growing in the begonia planters for a few years. We’ll see how it goes.

Two 1-gallon pots with the saplings repotted on the paved pathway beside the lawn. They have green buds on the thin branches now, although they’re hard to see against the green grass.

In the far background, you can see my flowerbed with the perennials coming back to life.

Several oak trees were killed last autumn along a path I walk, where private land meets a nature reserve. The private landowners needed to build an awful barbed wire fence apparently, in addition to stripping the land bare anywhere near it. So I planted some of the acorns that were left behind. Meet Baby Oak. (And fuck that new metal fence, actually.) (Except not literally I guess)
