Grab the free RPG released at #UKGamesExpo, reassure yourself The Witcher TRPG isn't dead and read why GAMA Expo went to Louisville despite looking at Kentucky's human rights record https://www.geeknative.com/158589/routinely-itemised-rpgs-208/ #rpgnews
You draft the fragments and try to arrange them to match patterns on the memory tiles and make paths across the board. It’s a very thinky puzzle. My accidental strategy of not managing to score very much until the last round paid off.
Really nice artwork! The theme of childhood memories makes for some lovely images.
One of the highlights of #UKGamesExpo was being taught Undaunted by @Simpike.
If you played Up Front or Advanced Squad Leader in the 80s then Undaunted might seem weak, but I really enjoyed it. If you have played Memoir '44 then it's not so different but a little more complex and deeper.
My only reservation is that Scenario 2 was a fixed, solvable puzzle. It's a minor reservation as there are tons of scenarios and campaigns so there is plenty of replay value.
UKGE Haul 3/3. As expected, Matt bought the most! Things from @bombyx_edition @molinarius_games @wonderfulworldboardgames @taiwanbgdesign @gotta2_games @buttonshy @cobblepathgames @leithillustration @japanimegames @origame.co @officialbicyclecardsuk @blueorangegames @imagigaming

My least favourite game of #UKGamesExpo
Supposed to be an entry-level 18xx, but it still took over 3 hours with 3 players and I got murdered by regular 18xx players. I also knew I had lost at the 90 minute mark.
18xx is also supposed to feel historic with real-world maps. This is totally abstract.
I have played two attempts at making 18xx more accessible, this and 1829 Mainline, and they both failed completely.
With #UKGamesExpo over for 2023 (I'm planning to write a little about it later this week) I've been pointed at https://www.takethis.org/2017/09/how-to-handle-con-crash-like-a-pro/ — it's a nice resource about handling the after effects of spending time at a con.
In related news, the dates for Expo 2024 have been annouced (31 May - 2 June) and hotels in the area are accepting bookings (I managed to making a saving on my Hilton booking compared to this year).
So my journey home from #UKGamesExpo has become a bit of an ordeal because of someone getting hit by a train and I've just made it a little longer by deciding that I'd rather take my usual, local train the final bit than get an uber. Why? Because I don't have the spoons to deal with the possibility the driver might try and chat with me like the one last night did.
Inspired by Classical civilizations and running with D&D’s 5e, The World of Vynestra is heading to Kickstarter. Here's a first #ukgamesexpo look! https://www.geeknative.com/158380/uk-games-expo-a-first-look-inside-vynestra-and-free-previews/
The time travelling indie movie Breaking Infinity gave out free copies of the accompanying RPG at the UK Games Expo, but if you missed out, you can snag a download https://www.geeknative.com/158385/uk-games-expo-free-breaking-infinity-rpg/ #UKGamesExpo
Today was my first experience of the UK Games Expo. It was ace! So many wonderful things. We have another day, but I have already bought Heat, Hungry Monkey (a joyous card game) and Colostle (a solo rpg). It was also great watching Vikings Vs Celts in the living village. #UKGamesExpo #Colostle #HungryMonkey #BoardGames
Announced this week at #UKGamesExpo the huge tabletop gaming convention in the NEC, Birmingham, in the UK, Don’t Play This Game is a solo game with some quirks https://www.geeknative.com/158354/free-to-download-dont-play-this-game-says-parable-at-uk-games-expo/
Come learn to play #Netrunner, get some cards (including the remastered versions of System Gateway and System Update 2021!), and buy cool swag like playmats, hats, and tokens!
I'm doing some final bits and pieces of prep for #UKGamesExpo this week – you can find me at table 2-952 in Hall Two and give me a wave (I'll have prints, original art, notebooks, and Dead Letter Society with me)
I'll be doing a bit of (probably watercolour) painting in whatever downtime I get behind my table. Come disturb me. :)
I would like to go to #UKGamesExpo but I would not like to drive all the way to birmingham to be in a crowded room full of germs
We are excited to announce that Monte Cook Games will be at UK Games Expo alongside Eclectic Games at Stand 1-664!
We'll be running game demos from 9am - 6pm in Hall 1, and you can buy MCG products from Eclectic Games directly on the stand.
Who's going to be there?
