We have much better security. We can’t trust that these objects would be safe in your countries.'"

This chart is really interesting. It only has data until 2019, but separates CO2 emissions by sector.
74% of the emissions reduction in the UK came from the Electricity and Heat sector. 11% came from Manufacturing and Construction, 4.5% from Buildings and 2.5% from Transport.
So overall, the drop in emissions between 2008 and 2021 in UK can be mainly attributed to a greatly reduced use of coal in electricity generation.

The #SNP and #ScottishGreens announced their position on drug decriminalisation, advocating for a healthcare and science based approach to policy. Considering #Scotland’s infamous drug problem, with drug deaths and other similar metrics being markedly worse than in other countries, drug policy such as this has the capacity to change the lives of millions.
Over on the dystopian hell site, however, my feed is full of angry and confused drug decriminalisation campaigners: buoyed by the Scottish Government’s strong position, and dismayed by the so-called Labour Party balking at the prospect with Rachel Reeves and Anas Sarwar having both rejected the proposal in public statements.
Why is this so surprising to you? Of course they reject drug decriminalisation: they aren’t listening to young people, to those who’ve recovered from addiction, or to communities that administer care. They’re listening to angry daily mail readers, and the editors of the national rags. That’s it.
For the love of all that is holy, can we stop staring into the eye of Sauron - expecting some form of humanity to stare back.
The Labour Party is finished, ideologically speaking. They committed political suicide when they ousted all of their leftwing activists and now they are sleepwalking into power with nothing compelling to offer.
Starmer, Reeves, and by extension all of the Scottish Labour stooges have sold themselves down the river for the prospect of a sniff of power. This robs them of ability to make meaningful change, unless it fits a very narrow set of criteria, which is exactly where the papers want Labour to be. The tories don’t behave like this, only liberals do.
This cycle of inaction is killing our society. We need independence from the British empire and we need it now.
