Listening to this masterpiece by The Doors this morning. As someone who grew up with music around, and studied Hindustani classical vocals, played Tabla, and had a family who also played sitar and harmonium, I could instantly hear an Indian raag in "The End." The pluckings of diatonic notes in the mixolydian mode.
Jazztodon artist of the week: Lars Erstrand! Swedish #larserstrand began on piano, but after hearing Lionel Hampton he changed to vibraphone. During the 1960s he joined a band led by clarinetist Ove Lind in the swing style of Benny Goodman. Erstrand also worked in the Swedish Swing Society with Antti Sarpila. He performed with Goodman and other American musicians who passed through Sweden. In 1991 he recorded "Two Generations" with Lionel Hampton.

Sometimes I feel like I have a lot to say and a lot to offer and other times I feel like I’m trapped in my own head and I’m unable to connect with anyone and articulate things in a way that is valuable or productive.
I get caught up in “I’m too tired/burnt out to talk about infosec stuff” and “maybe I should talk about infosec stuff more because I have so much to say” and it’s just really difficult to balance it sometimes.
I get waves of anxiety and finding what feels right at any given moment can be hard.
