powers of ten for interface design: zooming out from a simple button to our planet, this animation introduces the central concerns of #InterfaceDesign – as taught at #FHPotsdam – and sneaks in a few easter eggs and historical references along the way.
great work by @boris and team!

New blog post is up, titled "Solarpunk is people! - notes on a generic visual identity" by @arielkroon
Solarpunk has a contested visual identity - or rather, it doesn’t have one at all, compared to cyberpunk’s cohesive vision of Brutalist buildings. That’s a problem, but one worth exploring.
This is a print test from the last poster on the Gradient series and my personal fave - a take on mosaics and patterns, with a personal twist on gradients and colors. By combining elements and accepting all accidents, something new comes out. Yes.

Hi! Here is my #introduction
I’m a graphic and communication designer finishing up my study; I explore #designtheory, #computationaldesign and #parametricdesign and its applications to #graphicdesign and #communicationdesign and #visualdesign
I am now in the process of applying #humanoriented design to my own projects and processes, as well as to those of others, while working my way through libraries, papers and pencils.
Hey there, fediverse. I’m looking for a new role, preferably as an individual contributor where I can apply my keen eye for detail and experience across visual design, interaction design, prototyping, and design systems.
I am available immediately and open to remote, hybrid, or on-site roles (located in Manchester, UK). I appreciate any advice or leads you can offer. Thanks in advance!

These two gentlemen are the masterminds behind the amazing visuals created for our #replyxchange event, including an awesome 3D animated short movie. They also leveraged Gen AI tools but kept the artistic control and lots of human additions. 👏
Amazing designers! 🤩
Hi! I'm Enso. Figured doing a short #introduction for new folks.
Nice to meet y'all ✨💖

Change Mode UI doesn’t state current status. This adds cognitive load on the user to have to read what the status is and there is no confirmation if the fence or beacon is active or not.
When opening Change Mode have current state active. If fence is active, keep button color blue. This allows the user to quickly see what is active and what is not.
Today's video is a bit longer than usual (still less than 10 minutes though) but I think it is definitely worth it! I’m excited to share with you a walkthrough of Microsoft Designer, a web app for creating stunning visuals and graphics using AI. 🤩
Microsoft Designer can help you quickly create items like signs, invitations, logos, social media posts, website banners, and much more. You can start with your idea and create something unique for you, or get inspired by thousands of on-trend, customizable templates. 🙌
In this video, I’ll show you how to use Microsoft Designer to create a social media post in just a few minutes. You’ll see how easy it is to add your content, choose a design style, customize your fonts and colours, and download your image. 🚀

Additionally, give me notifications when my show has a new episode or tell me when it's available to watch.
Useful information about the lock isn’t shown with a quick glance, specifically battery level.
Surface timely information here that the user needs to monitor. Battery level is the most important with these locks so surface that above everything else.
I would love a "Binge Mode" where you can turn it on and watch an episode of a show and it would remove the intro credits and main credits at the end and just automatically go into the next episode. Credits and intro take you out of the story especially if you are intending to watch back-to-back episodes.
Does anyone have any recommendations on visual design resources?
I've taken courses, read books, read articles and watched talks on design, but I they've mostly covered the more theoretical side of design. And don't get me wrong, absolutely love that side of design and think it's incredibly important but I need some other the other side too!
Carousel in the hero space needs some breathing room at the top. Current images are being covered and providing no value as well as the CTA and text above search doesn’t pass contrast checks.
Move UI down on the carousel to let images have more room to shine. Add a gradient or darken CTAs to provide proper contrast.
Would love to be able to add my lists to my navigation on the bottom.
I understand the challenges of having multiple lists but would love to have a landing experience with all my lists or be able to link a specific list to the nav.
When in a party, have the option for the party leader to set a shared quest if all members have that quest in their inventory.
Add in a chevron or other UI element to provide clarity to the user that there is an action that can take place.
I recently learned how to animate logos in PowerPoint and it's a game-changer for anyone who wants to create eye-catching visual content. 💯🤯 Seeing all the elements of your Logo zoom in to the slide to form a complete image is awesome!
I've created a step-by-step tutorial on YouTube that's perfect for anyone looking to enhance their design skills. 🎓 Whether you're a student, entrepreneur, or working professional, this video will help take your creativity to the next level. 🔝

Choosing dark mode or light mode in applications is a question of preference. But there's more to it: Research suggests, that dark mode may be preferable for long-form reading to avoid long-term affects like myopia. On the other hand, light mode allows for more precision, e.g. when proofreading a text.
In any case, it's a good idea to design applications so that users have the choice to switch between a light and dark appearance.
