Since a few weeks I'm into #Web3 development. I want to learn more about #Blockchain technology, because I see some real world use cases aside the scam plagued crypto stuff. Especially in real estate and healthcare this could be a fit.
One thing that is utterly annoying for a developer in my opinion are gas fees. While it lies in the nature of the system that these are needed, it slows down the process for newbies.
In Ethereum we now see testcoins sold for fiat. Sick!
Centralized web = vulnerable to censorship, hacking, and data breaches.
Decentralized web = secure, transparent, and resilient. #web3 #blockchain #decentralization
You are absolutely right. There is too much toxic tech bro energy in the #web3 environment. And this is what we get.
A note to men and SOs: You can be tracked, too, as you support the people you love. Take extra care with any type of online or distributed services.
On a related note, people tend to think that blockchains and other distributed applications are secure and private. By design they lack most of the confidentiality part of the CIA triad. Never put anything confidential on a blockchain without first encrypting it. Blockchain does not do this for you.
I have no idea how blockchain applications meet GDPR and other compliance regulations related to confidentiality and right to be forgotten.
It is sad that we find ourselves once again in this fearful place.

#Web3 界隈がモデレーションを嫌う傾向あるっていうリプライをいただいて思ったことの続き。
「ちょうどいいモデレーション」みたいな程度問題を無視して「モデレーションしようとするから中央集権的でだめなんだ」って既存のビッグテックを大きい主語で否定するのって、構図だけみたら「資本主義なんてクソ！未来は社会主義！」っていうその昔の学生運動みたいなムーブ（ただの僕の適当認識偏見です）と何かしら近いものを、ちょっと Web3 にも感じる。
オープンソースなんかも昔はなんとなく共産主義っぽいイメージ持たれたりしてたけど、企業がちゃんとビジネスに活用するようになってうまく現実社会に溶け込んだみたいに、
Web3 みたいな話も「脱中央集権！（？）で通過も自由になって現ビッグテックも終焉！」みたいな、今の時代から見たコントラストの高い理想より、もうちょっとマイルドな現実にむかって活用されてくみたいなものなのでは？という気がする。

I'm working on #web3 and #AI stuff. Currently learning to build smart contracts on #Ethereum with Solidity. Honestly, web3 without the whole crypto scam bs is pretty amazing. Permissionless and open, decentralized dApps have a flair I like. Starting learning to build things on the Lens Protocol soon.
