Als man Websites noch in 960px Breite unterbringen sollte, Bilder möglichst unter 80kb Dateigröße halten sollte und Images nur dann ordentlich funktionierten, wenn man ihnen ein „display: block“ verpasste. Als man lernte, dass padding nichts mit petting zutun hatte, die Freundin sich noch für die HTML-Skills interessierte und Notepad völlig ausreichend war um 98.9% alle Anforderungen gerecht zu werden. #webdev #development #webdevelopers

I’d like to make it known that an awful lot of #webDevelopers didn’t buy into the “JS First / #SPA” sales pitch when it got started, and have been quietly churning out high quality, fast, accessible, and user focused sites *the entire time*. Quite confident in why that was the right choice.

Just because such people didn’t have big corporate funded conferences and advertising for a decade, doesn’t mean it wasn’t happening.

Nothing new has happened. Other than common sense finally won out.

Do any #webdevelopers know of a good intro to #responsive design (or design library) that focuses on vanilla #css and is not tied to any particular library? I'm looking for something that maybe has examples of "a blog" or "a storefront," but more of a from-scratch approach as opposed to a framework-based approach.

Native typing coming to Javascript! But it's not enforced by the browser, just annotations that a 3rd party tool like your IDE can enforce. I mean maybe it's better than nothing, but I think we'll be sticking with Typescript, thank you very much.

It does have the benefit of creating more #Tor traffic though, eg. to help hide other traffic. It also means the user gets all the information on the page that they'll need without any bother.

We believe lazyLoading has privacy implications, but also offers opportunities to #webDevelopers.

@cstanhope to be honest I have no idea how to answer them. I am as new to webauthn as you are. I just found that guide, which is really well presented and written, and started checking the protocol and spec. Then, I got confused for it ooked quite complex. I like the idea behind Static Site Generators.

I like the idea of websites not being reliant on databases, and not being generated dynamically each time it's loaded for content that is updated infrequently.
