Not only was this controversial court ruling was unpopular by both many #black and #white residents, it exposed Boston's vicious and pervasive #racism

The decision led to widespread #violence and #protests, which were so severe that in addition to Boston #police providing heavy security details, the #Massachusetts National Guard was activated.

From what I can tell, #American #White #Evangelical faith is concerned with four things:

1) Abortion
2) Gender
3) Sexuality
4) Biblical Inerrancy

#4 is used to prop up 1 - 3, even though the Bible says precisely nothing about abortion, and very little about gender and sexuality.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if #4 is slowly deemphasized so AWE folks can more effectively build cross-faith coalitions with conservative Muslims, etc, who agree on 1 - 3.

In #farmington, N.M. I come across peculiar stuff like this car wash sign. It wouldn’t mean much if I didn’t have this other pic from 2021, at what looks to be white hooded individuals walking in a group. This was supposedly taken near a high school in the city.

In 1974, three #white Farmington High School students kidnapped, bludgeoned and murdered three #Navajo men as part of a practice known as “Indian rolling.” This bordertown has always been notorious for its racism.

I took an occasional short-break from the last 2 years reading only books by #LGBTQ / #POC writers to read a 70's #Sci-Fi series (I saw it referenced in one of those books!) and just found out that the writer was both a believer that #HIV was caused by drug use; and a #holocaust #denier.

It's telling that so many #white people across #NorthAmerica can remember the first time they saw (especially in real life) or met a #Black person.

I doubt most Black people who grew up in North America have similar, specific memories in regards to white people.

That's a subtle #privilege, and detriment, having such a #homogenous #environment.
