At around 13.6 centimeters (5.35 inches), #pygmymarmosets are the world’s smallest primates. And their babies are even smaller. “They tend to have twins because the survival rates of offspring is quite low; it’s about 25% in the wild, so it’s really important that the mum keeps hold of them and carries them around. They need to be with her 24/7 because they’re completely helpless when they’re born…”

This is for real. And it's perfect. 😈
Seen at #DublinZoo in early March.
I drove @adrienne to the zoo yesterday. She led my other daughter's 3rd grade class in making "enrichment" packages for the monkeys she worked with last summer and we brought them over. She hurt her knee tripping over a cat and so I got dragged into it. The monkeys enjoyed them quite a bit and she got lots of videos. Now she is going to work on a presentation.
She's about my age.
Would have loved to know what she was thinking. Other than fuck the weather man and fuck this cold, cold weather...
Girl talk. Probably about how cold it was 🥶
A bit more seriously, she's an orangutan. They're critically endangered in the wild due to habitat destruction to make room for palm oil¹ production and due to humans seeing them as either cool pets or as food².
¹ very common ingredient in cheap(ish) foods and in a lot of cosmetics
² I knooow... that's pretty much cannibalism...
